∴ Terms & Conditions ∴
By placing an order with Balefire Blades, you agree to the following conditions:

∴Ordering and Timescale∴
When you place your order, you’ll be asked to outline your requirements. We will work with you to finalise your concept, and give a final quote and timescale based on this.
Upon confirmation, you will be placed on our waiting list and a contract will be formed.
We will invoice a 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm your place on the list. This will not be returned upon customer cancellation, but will be returned if we’re unable to fulfil the order for any reason.
The nature of our work means that the estimated timescale is a guide only. Crafting times are likely to differ from those initially provided, though we will endeavour to keep you informed of any major delays.
For this reason we cannot take custom commissions for particular dates or celebrations such as weddings or birthdays, as we cannot guarantee that the sword will arrive in time.
We will send a second invoice and a more precise timescale estimate a month before work is due to begin.
∴Cancellation and Modification∴
You may request to withdraw or make minor modifications to your order at any point before your second payment is made. However, your initial deposit will not be returned to you.
You may not add extra items to an existing order, as this would disrupt other customers’ orders. Any further items ordered after confirmation will be added to the end of the waiting list as a separate order.
A month before crafting begins, we will send a document for final sign-off along with the second invoice. Once this payment has cleared, we will be unable to accept any cancellations or modifications.
∴Prices and Payment∴
Your initial quote will not be inclusive of shipping charges – these will be charged separately once the true weight and dimensions of the parcel are known.
Deliveries outside the United Kingdom may be subject to import duties and taxes, which will be paid by the recipient once the delivery has reached its destination.
Payment is accepted via bank transfer only. If you are making an international transfer, we ask that you check the exchange rate and any commission that your bank may take, and alter your payment to reflect this. We will inform you once your payment has cleared in full, and confirm your place on the list.
∴Balefire Emporium∴
All items purchased via the Balefire Emporium are sold as seen. They are subject to our standard warranty as outlined below, but returns are not available for items that fail to meet expectations.
All purchases made via the Balefire Emporium should be dispatched within three working days, unless you are notified otherwise. You will receive an email to confirm your purchase, followed by a shipping notification with tracking information if applicable.
∴Warranty∴
We offer a one year guarantee on both swords and blades. If there is any fault in manufacturing, it should usually make itself known within this period.
In case of a manufacturing error within the allotted time, we’ll replace or refund the item. After this time, we’re happy to discuss any issues on a case-by-case basis. In cases where the fault seems to be a production issue rather than a case of heavy or improper use, we’ll offer repairs or replacement.
We retain the right to void this warranty if it becomes apparent that the sword was damaged through heavy or improper use.
We’re also available to answer questions or offer advice on repairs and maintenance throughout your blade’s lifetime.
If your custom item has not been made to the specified and signed-off measurements, you may request adjustments or replacement. However, we bear no responsibility for measurements which you have misjudged or made incorrectly.
∴Blade Fitting∴
If you are ordering a replacement blade for an existing hilt, we will recommend that you send the hilt to us for a professional fitting. This service is provided at no additional cost, provided that you pay shipping both ways.
If this is not possible, we will ask for a number of measurements to ensure a correct fit. Whilst we strive to attain exact measurements, the final fit can’t be guaranteed. In case of an overly-tight blade, we recommend using a needle file to perfect the fit.
∴Condition of Use∴
Balefire Blades cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury resulting from improper or unsafe use of our products.
As a fencer, you are deemed by Law to accept the ordinary risks and inherent danger of the sport.
