This majestic falchion is inspired by the Elmslie typology type 1A, adapted for safe fencing practice.
Its middle pivot balance gives it a lovely rotation in the hand, while the extra mass in the tip is ideal for dominating a bind and opening up the centre line.
Despite the heavier tip, which makes recovery a little slower than some arming swords, the mass is as central as practical due to its semi-hollow pommel and thinner tip.
Overall a very versatile sword, which can be used in the bind like an early rapier, or to devastating effect in cuts like a dussack.
It features a short, slightly curved crossguard and a classic wheel pommel, both of which have an antique finish. The oak grip is bound with linen thread and oxblood red kidskin.
It is optimised for right-handed use, and would suit a wielder with larger hands, and a palm size of approximately 10cm across.
