This English backsword is optimised for larger hands with a 10cm grip and space in the basket for different grip styles. Drawing on original 16th Century swords such as the Mary Rose sword and the Southwark Bridge sword, it features a versatile blade with a willing balance in both cutting and thrusting actions, and a classic English-style basket, which offers significant hand protection.
The guard is forged using historical methods, featuring carved acanthus leaf detailing to the quillon terminals and segmented lines to the globe pommel. The oak grip is wrapped first in linen thread, and then in brown kidskin.
